Indigo is free. Really.
Everything you need to build and ship a real business — the framework, the admin panel, payments, subscriptions, support, 14 modules in all — is free and open source, commercial use included, forever. Only three premium modules are paid, each a complete product in its own right — and most projects never need one.
Could you ship a real SaaS on the free tier alone?
Yes — that is the design rule the module split has to pass. If a capability is needed to run a real product, it stays free.
The whole core
CMS, auth and organizations, the admin panel, real-time, background jobs, 17 languages, SEO, REST API and the MCP endpoint — in every install, no license, no feature gates.
14 free modules
Payments, subscriptions, crypto payments, support desk, affiliates, booking, multisite, API keys and metering, docs, comments, authors, import, brand assets, activity feed.
Commercial use included
Apache-2.0 means no copyleft, no license keys, no seat counting. Build closed-source commercial products on the free tier — the code is yours from the first commit.
The only three things that cost money
Each is a whole product of its own — a full e-commerce platform, an AI character-chat app, a content engine. If your business runs on one of these, the license is a fraction of what it earns you. If not, you will simply never need them — and they fund the free core either way.

Premium help, when you want a human
The framework is free and your agent does the work — but sometimes you want the person who built it in the room. Paid, scoped, no subscriptions.
Launch package
Done-with-you setup: your install, your modules, your deploy, and your first improvement loop configured — from zero to a shipped product with the author guiding the way.
Consulting sessions
Architecture and product sessions with the framework's author — module design, agent workflows, scaling decisions, or a review of what your agent built.
Priority support
A direct line for teams running Indigo in production — guaranteed response times, upgrade guidance, and a say in the roadmap.
The fine print, in plain language
Will the free tier ever cost money?
No. The free core and free modules are Apache-2.0 — that license cannot be revoked from code you already have, and the split exists so the free tier stays a complete product, not a trial.
What does a premium license cover?
Installing and deploying that module for your product. It is a one-time business decision, not per-seat accounting — and it directly funds development of the free core.
Can I try the premium modules first?
Yes — the live demo runs every module, including all three premium ones. Click through the store, the chat and the writer before deciding anything.
What if I remove a premium module later?
bun run indigo remove takes a module out cleanly — routers, schema and admin pages included. Your data stays in your database; nothing else in your codebase depends on it.
Start free. It's most of the product.
Clone the starter, let your agent shape it, ship it commercially — and only ever pay if your business runs on a premium vertical.
